Taranaki Obstetric Care in New Plymouth is setting a new Gold Standard in patient care, with Dr Edward Williams’ investment in a new LINET Gracie Examination Chair from Active Healthcare. After working in healthcare for over 25 years Dr Williams understands the importance of having the right resources at hand.
Having worked in both the public hospital system and internationally in South Africa, Dr Williams says he is very impressed with the Gracie chair; “I have never used a chair with all the comfort and technology which the Gracie Chair offers. When my patients first see the chair, most of them are immediately impressed.”
As an experienced Colposcopist within both public and private settings Dr Williams has been using the Gracie Chair and its suite of accessories for over two months now, and has benefited from improved space and ergonomic design. “Saving space has been the biggest asset to me, the compact ergonomic design saves space and makes the chair a pleasure to use.”
With the ability to use customisable pre-set positions Dr Williams can very easily move patients on and off the chair as well as customised supine examination that his patients find comfortable. These types of positions require a chair that can deliver sensitive movement and care – which the Gracie Chair does.
Dr Williams also opted for the wireless video colposcope which seamlessly integrates into his existing practice management software. Dr Williams is able to connect to other clinical devices including the Ultrasound Machine, and additional screens – all of which can be uploaded to his secure software to confidentially record patient images and data.
Dr Williams originally trained in both South Africa and moved to New Zealand around 23 years ago, his special interests are High-Risk Obstetrics, Colposcopy and Vulvovaginal Diseases and Menopause. He is currently the Obstetric Lead Maternity Carer in Taranaki, a position held for 10 years and recently added a Clinic in Colposcopy and vulvovaginal disease.
