We’re grateful for the opportunity to support the Hospice Waikato’s Rainbow Place in Hamilton by providing two of the Guldmann GH1 Room Covering Ceiling Hoist System to enhance care for children and their families.
Rainbow place plays a vital role in paediatric palliative care and we’re honoured to contribute in a way that makes a difference for both staff and patients.
A Positive Change for Children and Staff
According to Roxie, a Clinical Nurse at the Rainbow Place, the children have responded very positively to the ceiling hoists − often enjoying their time in them more than with the mobile hoists. The smoother transitions also reduce discomfort and prevent unnecessary jolt, which is particularly beneficial for children with heightened sensitivities.
Enhanced Efficiency and Convenience
One thing they also noticed is the enhanced efficiency. Roxie adds,
“We used to spend time looking for mobile hoists around the building and checking battery levels. Now, with the ceiling hoists always in place and ready to go, it saves us time we can put back into patient care.”
Searching for the mobile hoists in the building, and checking the battery levels was also a factor. With the ceiling hoists in place, this eliminates this issue. The hoists are always available and ready to use – saving valuable time that can now be dedicated to patient care.
